Schmitt offers here the first series piston from the Italian premium manufacturer VERTEX suitable for Simson Moped and Mokick.
This piston is designed with 38.46 nominal diameter -2. oversize- for 41mm (diameter), 60cc bushings as a replacement for the original piston. The two 1mm piston rings coated with a hard chrome layer and the aluminium alloy with a very high silicium content make this piston a very top product. Two additional lubrication bore holes have been added for the 12mm gudgeon pin. These are axially offset so as not to weaken the piston pin guide. C-clips or G-clips can be used as piston clips, as the appropriate recess for removing C-clips has been thought of here! The piston is balanced and therefore has a low tilt tendency, which increases the service life and reduces vertical running marks. A not unimportant detail are the rounded piston ring pins: sharp-edged pins weaken over time the impact from the piston ring and often break exactly at this point.
