Red cable starter for Piaggio Ciao models with mono or variomatic drive. Ready for installation. The pull starter is suitable for racing and maximum loads.
Mounting on the vehicle:
Starter pinion: First clean all mounting surfaces. Then screw the matching counterpart for the pull starter onto the clutch or variator and secure the flange nut with a liquid locking agent such as Loctite.
Cable starter: Lightly fasten the housing adapter using the enclosed motor screws. In the next step, the round housing is supplemented with the pull-wire starter unit and screwed tight with the M5x45mm screws. Finally, tighten the motor screws.
Starting procedure:
Before each attempt to start the engine, pull the rope slowly a few times so that the engine turns over empty. Then hold the handle firmly and pull until it meets resistance. The starting process can now be completed with a stronger pull. Tip: Gloves provide more grip!
Caution:
When the pull starter is installed, the pedal mechanism becomes inaccessible (the pedal arms rest against the housing of the pull starter). Footrests, a longer pedal axle or a pedal axle extension are therefore required.
