This influences the correction air or brake air and has an effect at both low and high engine speeds when the slide is fully open. The aim is to achieve a constantly balanced fuel/air ratio over the entire speed range. Without the correction air, the fuel supply would increase faster than the air supply as the engine speed increases, which could lead to over-greasing at high engine speeds.
