Most BMW motorcycle models are still fitted with a rigid brake disk, which, in contrast to the floating brake disks used by other motorcycle manufacturers, are bolted directly to the rim using sleeves and corrugated washers (or spring washers).

BMW replaced the bolted design with a pressed version in 2008.

The TRW mounting kits make it possible to cover both variants.

This simplifies allocation and stock-keeping considerably and is an interesting, cost-effective option for BMW customers.
