EBC replaces the rigid original disc with a Full Floater brake disc

However, the very complex and expensive full floaters offer decisive advantages when braking. The brake ring, which is cut, drilled and ground from forged HPSR steel bars, can expand unhindered without deforming, even when subjected to repeated full braking, e.g. when descending mountain passes. The low carbon content of the HPSR steel used also proves its worth here, as it ensures very little structural change in the steel under the constant thermal stress of heating up and cooling down the brake disc in tough road use. A Full Floater brake disc from EBC is always a significant gain in safety.
