All indicator lights on one side of the vehicle, including the trailer or semi-trailer, are switched and controlled via three flasher unit-internal current or control circuits. One control circuit for the front turn signal lamps on the towing vehicle, the second for the rear turn signal lamps on the towing vehicle. The third control circuit is for the indicator lights on the trailer or semi-trailer. Error indications from the first and second control circuits are given via the indicator lamp for the towing vehicle. Error indications from the third control circuit are given via the indicator lamp for the trailer. The negative influence of long cables on the control characteristics is extremely effectively reduced with the three-circuit system.
