Connecting rod sets are made of special steel for maximum mechanical strength under high temperatures. Highly stressed parts of the connecting rod are case hardened in a highly technical process to give them extra load bearing capacity.

The bearing surfaces of the connecting rod is mirror-smooth. The surfaces are manufactured on precision machines. Irregularities can only be detected under the microscope.
