The piston kit contains a piston with ring and shims. This piston kit prevents the suspension from sagging due to the heat in the factory-installed shock absorber. The factory pistons are made of sintered metal and the cylinder is made of aluminum. These two materials have a fundamentally different temperature behavior: aluminum expands more than sintered metals. This leads to an excessive deviation of the tolerances during driving, the piston ring can no longer seal. The result is a noticeable loss of power in the shock absorber. With its aluminum piston, YSS offers the same material, so that the thermal properties are identical, the piston expands as much as the cylinder while driving, the tolerances remain the same, piston rings seal effectively. The result is a much better response, better damping. The included shims are designed for perfect valve function. The piston kit should be driven with the YSS MX spring adjusted to the driver's weight in order to be able to develop its full potential.
