With this cable branch, the voltage regulator can be positioned more freely, regardless of the connection to the conversion harness (item no.: 9077011).
Vespa Smallframe
On the Vespa Smallframe models (V50, 50N, Special, PV etc.) it is ideally screwed directly to the mounting plate for the CDI on the engine (article no.: 7673497). In this way, no mounting space is required on the frame and the regulator is air-cooled from all sides. For an optimal protection against splash water/moisture of the connections we recommend the special rubber cap (article no. 3330567).
Vespa Largeframe
With the Largeframe models an additional possible installation position would be directly on the frame under the side hood near the CDI, as Vespa has done e.g. with the Rally 200 models with Femsatronic ignition ex works.
Connection
The cable branch has a pre-assembled plug for the voltage regulator BGM6690, as it is included in our ignition kits. The other side of the cable branch has ring lugs which are connected in the cable box.
Black cable = ground
Blue wire (1) = voltage regulator input (unregulated current from alternator, blue wire)
Blue cable (2) = voltage regulator output (regulated current for (conversion) vehicle wiring harness, blue cable)
(the pin assignment of the blue cables is interchangeable)
NOTE
When using our conversion harness (part no.: 9077011 and similar) and the cable branch (BGM6690V50), the cables are short-circuited at the originally intended connection of the voltage regulator on the conversion harness (blue and orange cable lug, 6.3mm).
If a flasher relay is to be used, it can still be connected there (see installation instructions for the conversion harness).
