BGM PRO SPORT shift claw for Vespa Smallframe PV, ET3, PK S, PK XL, PK XL2/FL2/HP
BGM PRO has given the successful BGM6550 shift claw an update. The successor BGM6555 has a completely redesigned detent profile. This means that the gears are even more precise and the dreaded gear jumping is completely eliminated.
The BGM Pro shift claw is made from high-quality 15CrMo5 (SCM415) chrome molybdenum steel and is therefore very durable. The flanks have a very narrow tolerance compared to other gearshift claws available on the market. This ensures that the claw is guided precisely in the main shaft and effectively prevents shifting/tilting.
FIT FOR
The BGM Pro shift claw is manufactured for the so-called PK transmission type. This is driven with the round type shift claw (length of 50mm (overall height)). Round type shift claw means that the pins that engage in the gearwheel are provided with a radius at the transition to the end of the arm.
IDENTIFYING THE GEARWHEEL
The PK type can be recognized by the marking on the gearwheels. This always starts with a 42xx (= round gear claw with 50mm). The old type is identified by the number 37xx (= square gear claw with 51mm). The easiest way to recognize such a gearbox type from the outside is by the conventional rear wheel nut with M16 thread and safety cage with split pin. The old engines (with the previous gearbox type = gearshift claw 51mm / square) only have an M14 castellated nut with cotter pin (without safety cage).
Always usable V50/PV/ET3 from 1976 onwards
The PK gearbox version was already used in the last model years of the V50 (V5A1T from no. 69444), V50 Special (V5B3T from no. 94315), V550 Elestart (V5B4T from no. 1514) as well as the PV125 (VMA2T from no. 150203) and ET3 (VMB1T from no. 8161). The gearshift claw can of course also be combined with the main shaft of the older engines (M14 thread) if the gears of the new gearbox type (PK marking 42) are also used at the same time.
PURPOSE OF USE
The BGM Pro gearshift claw is designed for racing and has already been used very successfully in many cases. However, it can be used in everyday use without any further restrictions and also impresses there with its high quality, perfect gear shifting behavior and very long service life.
COMBINATION
The BGM PRO Sport shift claw is perfectly matched to the combination with the BGM PRO gear wheels and the BGM PRO main shaft. However, like all BGM PRO vehicle parts, it has been strictly designed for backwards compatibility with standard parts.

The new BGM PRO SPORT shift claw offers a high standard of reliability and improves the shifting precision and durability of smallframe transmissions.
