Schmitt offers here the first series piston from the Italian premium manufacturer VERTEX suitable for Simson Moped and Mokick.
This piston is designed with nominal diameter 37.96 -A0- for 38mm (diameter), 50cc liners as a replacement exclusively for the Schmitt cylinder STT48774. The two 1mm piston rings covered with a hard chrome layer and the aluminum alloy with a very high silicon content make this piston a top of the line product. Two additional lubrication holes have been added for the 12mm piston pin. These are axially offset so as not to weaken the piston pin guide. C-clips or G-clips can be used as piston clips, as the appropriate recess for removing C-clips has been thought of here! The piston is balanced and therefore has a low tilt tendency, which increases the service life and reduces vertical running marks. A not unimportant detail are the rounded piston ring pins: Sharp-edged pins weaken over time the impact from the piston ring and break not infrequently exactly at this point.
