HELICOIL® plus thread inserts are made of austenitic chrome-nickel steel (tensile strength of at least 1400 N / mm2). The rolled nut thread has a high surface quality. This ensures a heavy-duty, wear-resistant thread with an extremely low and constant thread friction torque. With repeat screw connections, a higher and constant preload force is achieved with the same tightening torque. At the same time, this leads to better utilization of the yield strength of high-strength screws. The torsional stress is significantly reduced: compared to cut threads, the surface roughness of HELICOIL® plus is up to 90 percent lower.
