Garnet sand, 0.18-0.35 mm (80 mesh), 25 kg bag, the optimum all-purpose blasting abrasive

• Material for derusting and paint stripping, low dust formation, bulk density approx. 2.4 g/cm3, specific weight 4.1 g/cm3, hardness >7.5 according to Mohs (approx. 4-8 cycles, depending on pressure), fine, reddish material, low dust formation, very good blasting pattern with fine surface, multiple blasting media for wet and dry blasting.
• Inactive and non-metallic mineral made from natural garnet sand.
• Gentle, economical and powerful blasting medium, LxWxH=500x270x100 mm optimum air supply, especially for pressure blasting) to achieve optimum cleaning results with the lowest possible loss of substance on the surface to be treated, as very fine grain size.
• Not as effective and durable as corundum (approx. 3-5 cycles).
• Higher bulk density, therefore sometimes problematic for injector blasting.
• Standard: Very fine grain shapes for a smoother result.

Tip:

• Only work in the injector area with a blasting material mix up to max. 0.25 mm/250 my (an exception is our fine special slag SKG 300 SLA1, which is only used for free blasting, however, SKG 130 GSG4 can also be used wonderfully for injector blasting, as most grains are closer to 0.25 mm), as coarse grains are not sucked in during injector blasting due to their size and weight (the blasting effect is then worse).

Application:

• This abrasive garnet sand is a kind of general weapon for removing paint and rust.
• The SKG 130 GSG4 is mainly used when there is a lot of dirt, e.g. for rough rust removal, or when there is a high surface coating, e.g. on brake parts.
• Use in a blast cabinet is ideal, as the SKG 130 GSG4 only produces a small amount of dust (less than the corundum or the SKG 125 GSG3).
• The garnet sand can be used up to approx. 6-7 bar without any problems.
• The garnet sand is ideal for mixing with one of the two glass beads SKG 150 GP1 or SKG 250 GP3.
